Commonly Asked Questions
I live in Australia/Mexico/Canada/Alaska/Hawaii, can you still take me as a client? Yes. We see clients both in person AND virtually through zoom in all 50 states and many countries. Quality of care is still the same and we ship the DNA test to you!
Do you offer any type of discount? Yes. We have a financial hardship fund that is used to help people that have gone through extreme hardship in life. Examples include but are not limited to: Medical debt due to death of a child, victims of sex-trafficking, and full-time caregiver of live-in adult parents. Only a few of these are given out each year. There is an application and interview process, contact our office for details.
Do you offer a Military discount? Yes. We offer a 10% military discount for men and women who have served in the United States Military in all branches. Must provide Military ID.
Will my genetics information remain private? Yes. Unlike many genetics testing companies who sell your information to insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies, your DNA results remain 100% private and will never be sold or shared under any circumstances, ever. We are HIPAA sticklers and respect our client’s health information. Any information you share in client appointments is confidential, and HIPAA protected.
What kind of genetics test is it? The test is a cheek swab (no needles)! Occasionally you will receive a “spit in a tube” test. Both are painless :)
How often will I need appointments? That depends on two things: 1. How quickly you expect to see results, and 2. Your monthly wellness budget. There is no “one size fits all”. Frequency of appointment use will be determined by Dr. Jeni according to your specific needs, goals, and budget. We sell appointments in initial packages of 5 and 10 and continuation packages of 6 and 11. Yes, you will use them all :)
How soon can I expect my DNA results to come in? The average time for our lab to process your DNA is approximately 3-4 weeks.
Do packages expire? Yes. You must use all appointments within 365 days of the date of initial purchase for that package. There are no refunds issued for unused appointments (see question #22).
Do you offer payment plans? Yes. This is something new that we have started to offer as of June 2026. The total amount for a DNA Wellness Package can be paid over the course of 3 or 6 months. Contact our office for details.
What type of payment options do you take? Cash, check, credit or debit card. Some individual HSAs will cover the cost of the DNA test itself.
Do you take insurance? No. Insurance does not cover truly holistic healthcare or Naturopaths that are not tied to a pharmaceutical company, faith based, or a doctor that does not prescribe drugs. Horvat Holistic Health is all of those things. Insurance regulates what you can and can't do, lowering the standard of care.
I have never used Zoom before for anything. Is this complicated and do I have to pay for Zoom? We pay for zoom. If you do not have zoom it is ok! We teach you how to easily install it for free on your end, walking you through it step by step on the phone. We have had clients in their 80s and 90s and make it simple and uncomplicated for everyone.
