Dr. Jeni Horvat
As a woman who values honesty, integrity, and compassion, this is the way I treat my clients. When you let me know you have terrible headaches and nausea, I will listen to you and believe you. When you tell me you have brain fog so bad you forgot to pick your kids up from school, I won't judge you. I will listen to you, empathize with your health concerns, and point you to the absolute best path forward- faith in the creator of the universe. God made your DNA unique, and no two people are alike. We have different eye, hair, and skin colors. We have different facial structures. We even sound different and like different things. So why should we ALL be vegan? Or ALL be carnivore? Or ALL take turmeric? Or ALL stop eating nightshades? Or ALL take vitamin D? Or ALL do cardio? Or ALL Intermittent fast?
This is why I have spent the last decade studying genetics. We all are uniquely designed and have different requirements to function optimally. Some people need to eat more meat. Some poeple need to eat less. Some people can have citrus and some cannot. An herb that is beneficial for one person could have serious side effects for another. Did you know that oil pulling is a great way to detox the gums? There is so much research on how great it is! That is....unless you have oral fungus. Because coconut oil feeds fungus. And you can't oil pull if you have metal fillings. Research shows it will pull the mercury right out and you can end up swallowing it. (metal fillings have mercury). So oil pulling isn't great for Everyone.
And fermented foods- they are an excellent source of probiotics. I personally love Kimchi, sauerkraut, coconut yogurt and fermented any kind of vegetable. Fermented foods are full of healthy living organisms- the "good bacteria" for your gut. Everyone should have fermented foo- wait. Everyone except people with a histamine disorder. And everyone except those with MCAS. Because then, fermented foods will cause bloating and Leaky Gut. Yes! Fermented foods INFLAME some poeple. That is why I use the genetics God gave to determine the best path forward. People are not carbon copies and everyone has their own genetic fingerprint.
Blood tests are temporary, I have had so many clients over the years share how blood labs failed them- they are WRONG 60% of the time AND they are based on unhealthy margins AND they are painful AND it is just one test that doesn't show the whole picture AND your blood fluctuates hour to hour. A blood test can show you have low TSH one day and high TSH the next day- or within hours! Just to recap: Blood labs have been shown to be wrong 60% of the time, the "conventional range" is not healthy at all. The "Functional Range" is usually half (or a third) of that wide "conventional" range in order for your body to properly function. Blood labs are painful, often leaving you with bruises, or multiple pokes while they try to find the vein. You can send a blood sample to three different labs and get three completely different results.
The DNA God gave us IS permanent. This is why I became a geneticist. We can look and see exactly the genes you have with ZERO guesswork. Genes for Alzheimer's disease, cancer, diabetes, thyroid disorders like Hypothyroidism, Hashimoto's hyperthyroidism and graves disease. I run complete vitamin and mineral panels, we can see what your body needs most according to your DNA. Parasites, H. Pylori, Candida- if you have the genes for it and are exposed to the correct environmental factors, this is when states of Dis-Ease occur. Panels also include Eczema, acne, psoriasis, Lupus, Multiple Sclerosis, Allergies, Asthma, Food Sensitivities, Cholesterol, Blood Pressure, Obesity, Workout Recovery, Fertility, many types of cancer, PCOS, Endometriosis, sexual dysfuntion. Mental health disorders, Inflammation, and HUNDREDS more.
What good is a DNA test without knowing what to DO about your results? This is why I educate my clients on Epigenetics. Epigenetics is the science of how lifestyle factors positively or negatively affect genetic expresion. What we eat, how we sleep and how much we sleep, what we drink, what we put on our skin, how we think, the quality of our relationships, how we move, and how mush stress we have- and how we deal with that stress- all affect our genes! The chromatin structure on our genes is exposed to chemicals (good and bad) that actually modified the way our genes express. For better or worse, this is the case!
I use the DNA test to identify what mutations and traits you have, and THEN use the science of epigenetics to educate you on how to modify the way your genes express. All while loving and supporting you on your health journey. And throwing in a pun or two to offset the deep science stuff :)
I was in my early 20s in nursing school when I got very sick. i stopped having periods, I started getting lots of acne, I had terrible BO and bad breath, and my bowel movements stunk- I am typing this out and cringing putting this in my bio on our professional website- but it's the truth! I was so sick and tired all the time. My mom thought something was wrong- and something was wrong. After she suggested I get a pap smear, the results came back positive for cervical cancer. Three of my four grandparents had cancer. My grandma had several types of cancer. So did my mom.
I remember thinking "But I am so young." And "I play competitive Racquet sports" And "I only eat at McFast Food Places like twice a week" And "How is this happpening to me?" I was scared, my mom was scared, my friends were scared. I thought I had my whole life ahead of me and cancer threw a monkey wrench into everything. But, I wasn't going to go down without a fight.
So I started researching. I read articles, studies, and clinical papers. Hundreds of them. This is a habit I have kept to this day and without any exaggeration I have probaly read tens of thousands of studies on body alkalization, juicing, water fasting, intermittent fasting, veganism, carnivorism, dry fasting, hydration, movement, cancer, disease prevention, Alzheimer's, Diabetes, Thyroid disease, antioxidants, neuroplasticity, autism, depression, schizophrenia, blood clotting disorders, candida, heavy metals, herbal remedies, natural medicine approaches, and prayer. And so many other health related things. I read studies every day, and have for years and years. This contributes to the knowledge I have to help serve my clients better. I have a Desire to Learn.
Because I have a Desire to Learn, I implemented what I learned, and was able to completely reverse my cancer in four months. I dropped out of nursing school and began the many years long journey to become a Traditional Naturopathic Doctor to help educate other people with the Desire to Learn.
The Desire To Learn is the first step in a system I created called:
'The Four Steps of Wellness Success.'
Desire to Learn
Obtain the Education
Impelmentation
Pass it on to the Next Generation
I teach my clients this system, and what each step entails. This has been a powerful instrument for the success of thousands of clients. Those clients who implement the teachings in this system have outstanding success achieving their health goals. In our appointments together I will share what needs to be done at every step. Kindly, empathetically, all while listening to you and not dismissing you. I will challenge you to give up false belief systems about yourself and what you can do, and myself and our Horvat Holistic Health team will be there every step of the way.
Another system I created to help my clients achieve the BEST results possible for their health is:
'The Three Principles of Holistic Nutrition'
Eliminate Inflammation
Introduce Holistic Nutrition
The Body Must Cleanse Before Rebuilding
In this system, using brain neuroplasticity, consitency, and a targeted approach that works every time, clients truly transform their lives and leave their illness in the dirt where it belongs.
Over the years I have written magazine articles, done radio and podcast interviews, been the featured speaker for health expos and wellness summits, and been on tv talking about 'The Four Steps of wellness Success' and 'The Three Principles of Holistic Nutrition'. These systems work, and you will know them in and out as our client. There are no hidden tricks- I don't like tricks. Just science, passion, and the guided ability to adapt to new information, wrappped up in a system that will allow you to flourish. I will hold your hand. I will explain things in a way that is easy to understand. I will answer your questions. I will love you and pray for you and care about what is important to you.
I have an undergraduate degree in Holistic Health, a four year full time doctorate in Traditional Naturopathy, a two year supervised clinical internship in Autoimmune Disease and Functional Nutrition, and I am board certified through the AAMA (American Alternative Medical Association) as an Alternative Practitioner. I also have several advanced certifications in Reflexology, Iridology, Alzheimer's, Ehler's Danlos, Clinical Herbalism, Agriculture, Rehabilitation, and Medical Esthetics. With 18 years in the healthcare field, experience working and volunteering at nursing homes and hospice care, I have seen first hand the effects of prescription drugs, lack of quality care, and lack of empathy on the human body- it's abysmal. People are deserving of quality, dignified care that actually works with their bodies. We teach our clients that Jesus Christ is God (Yeshua is YHVH) and the whole bible applies to our lives.
Before I was a doctor, I volunteered as an animal rehabilitator, with expertise in dogs and birds including parrots. I have formulated biologically appropriate diets for all of our animals on the homestead including dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, and turkeys. I have treated my own animals naturally for parasites, injured limbs, pests, and behavior issues with great success. I love animals, and you are welcome to call our office of you have a sick or injured pet, to see if I can share what has worked for other animals in my care. I love backpacking and have trekked all over the US and parts of Mexico. I also love learning new skills and applying them to my life- like fermenting foods, sewing, and permaculture! Foraging for mushrooms in the woods is one of my favorite things to do- check out this 'Chicken of the Woods' mushroom larger than my head!
Every day I am so grateful to God for my caring, hardworking, creative-problem solving, down to earth, praying, handsome husband Christopher. He truly is a gift from God in my own life, on our homestead, and for our clients. My husband prays for our clients, supports them, and coaches them to success with tools he creates to help them achieve. He amazes me every day with his love and dedication to help our clients succeed at their health goals. It is a dream come true working with my husband, and I am thankful for his crisis counseling expertise and behavioral skill building background he brings to our clinic, working as a social worker for over a decade. He is driven, went back to school in his 40's to make a difference in other's lives, and truly good at what he does helping clients by equipping them through health coaching and tool building techniques. Christopher and I are a team, and we show up for our clients ready to listen, understand your symptoms, and read your DNA to find those bad genes to shut them off.
Everything we do is truly 100% natural. Zero needles. Zero invasive diagnostics. Zero drugs. Zero medical treatments. I didn't go to physician school to become a Medical Doctor because drugs, needles, and a sterile bedside manner is not what saved my life! This is NOT a medical cure. This is truly addressing the Root Cause- using the DNA God gave you and Epigenetics to achieve abundant health and symptoms remission. If you are ready to step into the next chapter of whole-body wellness, and are looking for a doctor that sees you as a whole person created in the image of God, and one with the education, credentials, and research capability to be a good steward of your health, reach out. I am here for you, to help you achieve your health goals!

Christopher Horvat
As a social worker for over a decade, I had seen first hand how a broken system failed families time and time again. Zero funded food programs to help youth with behavior and developmental disabilities get the nutrients they were sorely lacking in. Zero initiatives focused on movement, restored relationships, and an individualized approach to wellness instead of the social work cog that chews people up and spits them out. My clients were children and adults who needed quality care in order to overcome the health issues and mental challenges they were dealing with. I worked as a crisis counselor, helping to save over 1,000 people from comitting suicide. That part was gratifying, and I got to pull on every skill in my toolbelt to convince people there were reasons to be alive. I loved my clients, but kept feeling like the "sick care" system was failing them. When I went to work seeing people unable to change- becuase they didn't have the tools or someone supporting them- that really got to me.
All this while I was experiencing my own horrific symptoms! In my 40's I was exhausted, my joints were in pain so bad I bought all these back stretching devices, was seeing a chiropractor and neck specialist, and spending a small fortune on desperately trying to get better taking supplements upon supplements. I was dealing with psoriasis and vitiligo on my arms and legs, and I was so constipated I was only going to the bathroom every four days. I had painful bloating and nausea, and when I ate I would feel terrible. It was ridiculous. My teeth and gums were inflamed and my sleep quality was atrocious. I felt absoutely hopeless.
At the same time, I was looking for a wife- what woman would want a sick man not able to do much? I felt hopeless.
I met Jeni online while sharing our mutual love for Yeshua and the bible. What drew me to my beautiful wife Jeni, was her heart for helping other people, and her desire to serve the Lord in everything she did. We had a long distance relationship where love blossomed over the phone and video calls- though to tell you the truth I was so nervous and had so much anxiety over meeting in person because of my illness. I was so sick and I was worried I would get ill in front of Jeni, and be embarassed. After much consideration, I shared my feelings on the matter with my future wife. She instantly replied "I am going to help you, don't worry. I will order you a DNA test and you will feel great for our first in person date!" She was so confident. I was in love, scared, and still decided to trust her. We went over the results together on zoom- the same way our clients do now- and I found out from my genetics I had autoimmue disease, and severe digestive issues ties to Ehler's Danlos genes. I had kidney weakness. I had gum inflammation problems and eczema and chronic pain- and we could see all the genes causing these issues! It was fascinating and eye opening and a relief to know what was going on with me and my symptoms would no longer be ignored.
My sweet Jeni put me on a wellness protocol specifically for my DNA with the goal of "downregulating" the bad genes, and "upregulating" the good genes. I felt much better within days and within weeks I literally had my life back and wept for joy at my new reality- a fresh start.
For our first date, Dr. Jeni and I went on a 10 mile hike at Waterfall Glen forest preserve in Illinois. I could never in my life imagine hiking for ten miles the way I felt before. A few months later I married the most beautiful, caring, and brilliant woman I have ever met. I was still working as a social worker and so frustrated that I felt like I was not making a real impact in these kids lives or health. The state puts a chokehold on what you are and are not allowed to do- including sharing my faith- the single most important aspect of my life. After venting and brainstorming with Jeni (at 3am on a walk along Lake Michigan in Sheboygan, Wisconsin,) I decided to go back to school for Holistic Health. This way I could help to make a real difference in people's lives, and be proud of the work I was doing, I could work alongside my wife, and I could share my faith, joining my wife's Christian torah observant holistic health practice! This was a triple win.
That night (at 4 in the morning) I enrolled in New Eden, the same Christian school my wife earned her education as a Naturopathic Doctor through, though I did not get a four year degree like she did. I chose an 18 month program that was 43 college credits, and I was able to choose and customize a lot of the coursework and electives, allowing me to gain experience in the field I would be working in. Simultaniously, I started my internship in Holistic Health, and got to be supervised my wife Dr. Jeni because of her credentials in qualifying as a clinical supervisor. This was a BIG blessing to get to be mentored by my wife, and see actual clients progress through recovery from illness. I got to see first hand the protocols that we created, working in client after client after client. Everything was all customized to their DNA. I focused a lot on biblical wellness, body system detoxification, lymphatic movement, parasite protocols, and relational counseling.
After a year and a half of hard work in school graduating with a 4.0, and additionally completing 1500 hours of supervised clinical time, I graduated as a Natural Health Practitioner and became board certified through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. I learned so much about health, genetics, and looking at people as Whole Beings instead of compartmentalized pieces the way conventional "medicine" does. Now, I get to work alongside Dr. Jeni, helping people holistically through their DNA, and sharing my faith in Yeshua. I love my job! And I still counsel people in crisis. Many of our clients work through issues in their marraiges alongside their physical health, and my bachelor's degree in social welfare and many advanced counseling certifications, along with 13 years working as a social worker and crisis counselor allow me to tailor our protocols to our client's needs, get them out of fight or flight, and restore relationships in marriage and with their children and even siblings. I help clients to overcome addictions to drugs, pornography, alcohol, cigarettes, and sugar! Every day I am thankful to God for the opportunity to meet my wife and share in this wonderful journey together helping people into wellness.
Shortly after getting married, we bought a piece of land in the Ozarks and turned it into a homestead. I could never have done this feeling like garbage. Every day I feel strong, vibrant, and full of energy. I take care of our livestock- at this point about 150 animals, our property, work the land, and cherish my beautiful wife. I can't imagine going back to feeling awful ever again- and I look forward to helping every single person with a true Desire to Change. It is the absolute joy of my lifetime to get to work in a field where I get to see first hand the effects of our clients implementing their Epigenetics protocols, and being able to enjoy their families again, lose their brain fog and mood swings, get rid of their eczema and thyroid issues and metabolic symptoms and extreme exhaustion and pain- and just feel better. I know what it feels like to be a "Before" myself. I am so thankful to be an "After" now. And this is our client's reality! And I get to be a part of their journey to wellness- for that I am so grateful. It is a blesing to teach our clients that Yeshua is YHVH (Jesus Christ is God) and the torah applies to our lives today.
I can't believe this is my life! To go from feeling so terrible day in and day out- to experiencing true healing, to going back to school to work with my wife- and to now get to see client after client reverse their symptoms naturally using their God given genetics and getting their own lives back. I want you to know that if you think there is no hope- there is.
On our homestead we raise chickens, ducks, and turkey for meat- it has been an interesting process learning how to safely dispatch and process our livestock for food. I enjoy hiking here in the Ozarks, foraging for wild edibles along the way, and I love learning to do builds on the homestead, things to make our animal's lives easier like shelters and bridges. We chose to live in a tiny house to simplify our lives and focus on what matters. It is so satisfying improving our house and making the most of our space. Working with my hands is a blast! I am hopeless no more, and I am here to coach you to success in your protocols. Your good health is waiting for you!

The Ozarks always felt like home to our family. We love the picturesque mountains, the lush natural setting, the springs, the values, and the people. Every time we visited, we wanted to return to cold, expensive, and flat Indiana less and less (and less). My best friend lives in the Ozarks. The cost of living is low for a much higher quality of life than what the city offered me and my two children, Iris and Aydan. My kids are amazing by the way. My 13 year old son is literally writing a sourdough cookbook. He experiments with different flavors of kombucha, is phenomenal with animals, and is the best big brother to Iris. Iris is wild with perfect ringlet curls- smart wild. She knows what she wants out of life, then she does it. She is quick witted and a fast thinker. Both of my kids are athletic, love real food, and love nature. They love each other too.
In November of 2025 our family was in the Ozarks again visiting my close friend, talking about how great it would be to live here and make our family's dreams come true. My son wants to open an organic restaurant and juice bar. My daughter wants to own an organic spa- 100% natural skin treaments and holistically minded. I had always wanted to open a retreat center for veterans with PTSD and give back in ways that are sorely lacking in our veteran's communities. I myself served in the Army, deploying overseas to Afghanistan and seeing the hardship and mental health issues our troops suffer through without the support they deserve. I'm a doer, and I want to do something about this.
So my friend we were visiting was like "You've gotta meet my new friend Jeni, she's this talented and brilliant Naturopathic Doctor here in the Ozarks!"
Well. I did meet Dr. Jeni and Christopher.
That meeting changed our family's life forever. I met with Dr. Jeni for an Iridology appointment to help me with some health issues, and got a tour of her and Christopher's homestead. Aydan and Iris were in love with the animals, the nature, and the whole way of life. Dr. Jeni fell in love with my kids. And with me :)
I shared that I had always dreamed of moving to the Ozarks and the goals our family had and how we disliked Indiana. Dr. Jeni said "Do it and come work with us, we'll help people with a Desire to Learn and build this virtual wellness center together".
So I will soon be calling the Ozarks home myself after finishing up this next year coaching highschool volleyball.
Christopher and Dr. Jeni saw the people skills I had and love for others I brought to the table. They appreciated the years of experience I had in coaching competitive volleyball for many years- which is a discipline unto itself. Dr. Jeni and I bonded over all things holsitic. You know- herb walks, talking about foraging and skincare treatments you can eat that won't poison you- that kind of thing. We talked about what it would look like to grow a wellness center that would serve the local community here in the Ozarks, and online as a telehealth practice, to help as many people as possible in their health. When I answer the phone, I want you to know that not only do Dr. Jeni and Christopher care about your health, I do too. I want you to feel welcomed and appreciated and validated and listened to. You are important to me!
I became the remote administrator for Horvat Holistic Health, and have worked diligently to help reach the people that want real, compassionate care that works. In the next year I will get to be on-site and my kids and I are so excited for this needed change. I get to onboard patients, plan fun and educational wellness classes, network with other providers to bring about the best results for our clients, and answer any questions our clients might have. I encourage my kids to ask questions, and I want you to do the same. Your health is an investment- never feel wrong for asking questions. How can we learn if we don't ask?
I have a bachelor's degree with a concentration in kinesiology, and several advanced Essential Oil certifications. As a volleyball coach, I have gotten to work with some outstanding teams over the years. I have been teaching how to use oils safely for families through classes and workshops for over a dozen years. I am so excited to teach Essential Oil workshops onsite at Horvat Holistic Health.
My kids are my pride and joy, and the biggest part of my purpose. I have always taught them that what you put in your mouth matters. In fact, what you brush your teeth with and wash with matters. How you think matters. Encouragement and love and loving God and lovoing other people matters. I chose to homeschool my kids to spend the most time with them and tailor their learning styles to their personalities. This has worked out well and my kids are thriving.
We really are a team at Horvat Holistic Health, and we genuinely, truly, sincerely care very deeply for each and every client. We want to see you feel better and kick your symptoms to the curb. We won't fill your appointments with fluff to make getting better take longer- and cost more. Dr. Jeni and Christopher are the real deal. And so are my kids- they will be assisting at wellness classes on site passing out smoothies and showing you how to harvest purple dead nettle.
I have always had a passion for helping people. I have always had a passion for holistic health. I have always had a passion for the Ozarks. Now, I get to work alongside my friends and colleagues Dr. Jeni and Christopher, IN the holistic health field IN the Ozarks. I worked as a contactor for the military for six years, running a gym in Iraq- it was quite an experience and required extensive planning, organization and execution. I am passionate about serving the underserved and bringing quality care to those who truly want and need it.
Give our office a call and say hello. Share what is important for you to accomplish, let us serve you in making that happen. Telehealth is just as warm and educational as in-person. We want you to feel welcomed wherever you are from.
